The Red Riding Trilogy.

Plot

A rookie journalist looks to solve the increasingly vexing case of a serial killer on the loose.
Red Riding is a trilogy of movies based on a quartet of novels by David Peace. The books (and films) are fictionalized accounts of the investigation into the Yorkshire Ripper, a brutal serial killer that stalked the Yorkshire area of England in the 1970′s and 1980′s.

Intro

The first thing we see is the anti-hero (very common with a film Noir  standing covered in mud and dirt with a gun in his hand, there is a voice over which is the voice of the anti-hero, and he is telling us of the little girl who went missing, and possibly killed, by the man/women the anti-hero and just possibly killed the killer, with the gun he has in his hands before dropping it on to the ground. The lighting is a sepia and dark effect. With a close up shot of the anti-hero     so we can get a sense of who the character is and what he looks like. we then see a dark field and the camera starts to pan up a body which we then see to be a little girl with wings on her back and then fades into darkness.

Muholland Drive.

Plot

After a car wreck on the winding Mulholland Drive renders a woman amnesic, she nand a perky Hollywood-hopeful search for clues and answers across Los Angeles in a twisting venture beyond dreams and reality.

Intro

At the beginning of the opening title sequence we see men and women dancing, with black figures following them on the ground, there is also a bright purple background, then we a woman with a spot light shinning on her, which makes us think that we was among the dances and she has won some kind of compaction, this is the 'girl next door' character who is very common in a film noir, we know shes the 'girl next door' because shes a pretty, happy and cheerful character. From this scene we then go to a dark room which the camera seem to be panning up a bed then 'dives' in to the pillow, then we come out to a posh, fancy car driving very slowly up the windy road of Muholland drive, when we see who is in the car we can tell immediately that the woman in this car is a femme fatal as she has personal drivers also  shes in control of these men (which is a common component of a femme fatal, a femme fatal is also a very common character for a film noir) the femme fatal thinks shes in control of these men by saying when the car stops 'we don't stop here' she hasthe control until one of the men points a gun at her, then she cower's back scared, we quickly cut to two cars racing down the road then crashing in to the femme fatal's car, saving her from the inevitable death from the gun shot, after the crash we see the scene filled with smoke, but not with the film noir typical cigarette smoke, but the smoke from the cars, we then see a fire start from one of those cars.

story line and story board.

Lewis is a mental patient, Daniel is his care worker trying to get Lewis back to the mental home, because Lewis ran away to hide from the apparent 'Aliens', Daniel finds Lewis in a office block and try's to help, but Lewis doesn't want help and saves Daniels life from the pain of suffering in the apparent Alien war.

what we did!!

My group decided to make the preliminary exercise more interesting and complicated with a dramatic story line which is unrealistic. We had to make sure match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule was used in our clip.
